April 2016 - USDOT Selects Columbus, Ohio A Top Finalist As The World's First Smart City!

Columbus, Ohio Could be the World's First Smart City!

With Congress' continued failure to pass any meaningful infrastructure funding, the U.S. Department of Transportation has joined forces with Google to develop a high tech program for the world's first smart city.  By using Google Maps, and possibly other GPS programs, the program will gather data to create solutions to many urban issues ranging from traffic management to pollution.

To help address transportation concerns, a smart city would have infrastructure and smart sensors in place ready to handle self-driving and connected vehicles, and integrate with Google Maps to monitor and direct traffic flows.  This infrastructure would have a significant impact on the supply chain.

The top seven finalists are currently developing proposals to introduce smart technologies into their cities.  The winner will receive $50 million toward implementing its plan!  The top seven finalists are Austin, Texas; Columbus, Ohio; Denver; Kansas City, Mo.; Pittsburgh; Portland, Ore.; and San Francisco.

January 2016 - E-Commerce is Ever-Changing the Landscape of the Logistics Industry!

Logistics Service Providers.......Taking the Weight Off Retailers!

As the overwhelming growth of internet shopping continues, consumers spent 1.7 trillion dollars in 2015.....with the click of the mouse!  And with all indications, one can predict a continual growth in the logistics and shipping industry.

As the smaller retailers are eliminating their stores and switching to a strictly e-commerce method of conducting business, the large brick and mortar stores are feeling the loss of person to person sales as shoppers prefer the convenience of shopping from home due to their busier lifestyles. This causes the logistics and shipping industry to take the weight off the stores who do not need to keep as much stock in their stores.

E-Commerce is causing the logistics service provider industry to be extremely valuable.  They are capable of adapting themselves into fulfillment centers for small parcel shipments and/or the handling and shipping of product for the very large retailers.

Hyperlogistics is dedicated to the needs of every customer.  Their commitment to be adaptable exceeds their customer's expectations.

December 2015 - Refugees Boost Central Ohio's Economy!

Central Ohio Accepts Refugees.....Refugees Helps Central Ohio's Economy!

The Columbus Dispatch (newspaper) reports that Directors of three Columbus Resettlement agencies agree the myths that refugees drain more resources than they add to the ecomony......the opposite is true!

The three agencies spend about $6 million a year helping refugees start a new life in the U.S. From that investment of mostly federal dollars, the central Ohio community reaps an annual economic impact of $1.6 billion, including nearly $36 million in spending, according to a new study.

By definition, refugees are survivors,” said Kay Lipovsky, office director of World Relief Columbus. “They have courage, ingenuity and the strength to come here and try to make it work.” They are grateful for their acceptance and reward employers with loyalty and hard work.
